They were delighted to hear stories from people across the world who were practicing Liberatory Design in their contexts. In 2019, the team reconvened to create an updated version of the public-facing card deck. The co-creators continue to practice and evolve Liberatory Design in their respective contexts and love hearing from others using it. Liberatory Design is a creative problem-solving approach and practice that centers equity and supports us to design for liberation. Mindsets invoke stances and values to ground and focus our design practice, and modes provide process guidance for our design practice.

Workshop 3: Understanding the Problem to Find a Solution: Defining an Equity Challenge in Your Work

It creates default “truths” and views any challenge to them as “making things political.” It creates an illusion of objectivity through the idea of rationality. The values that prop it up are the dehumanization of Blackness and Indigeneity, the control of those living in poverty, and the erasure of cultures and traditions. By designing for the status quo either actively or passively, we are reproducing injustice. We designed and led an intensive training during which their leadership team redesigned professional development for their staff with an equity lens. We have led two co-design workshops with their National Youth Advisory Board members who have lived experience with legal representation in the child welfare system. In these sessions, we learned from their lived experience in group interviews and together, synthesized and prioritized learnings to apply to the project.

I became obsessed with the question of how to leverage design for liberation. First, I needed to break down how I thought design was perpetuating injustice so that I could pinpoint where to start redesigning Design Thinking. Design Thinking can overly focus on narrow programs, experiences, and products without looking to the complex and/or randomly chaotic systems they operate in. What if instead we looked beyond symptoms and asked ourselves if we can launch a portfolio of experiments across the system and look at both long-term and short-term emergency support?

Amidst all of this, there was a huge outpouring of interest in a field I’ve been immersed in my entire career — Design Thinking. Design Thinkers were eager to volunteer and apply their methodology to these complex challenges. Last fall, IDEO suggested Design Thinking could help us redesign capitalism itself. I’m heartened to see that there’s so much interest in this discipline, but I’m also deeply aware of its weaknesses and imperfections.

Designers hold immense power over the process and outcomes of the work and yet our lives are rarely directly impacted by the challenge. Celebrate and reflect on the launch of Beytna’s new website with the design team! We will explore together what decolonized design means to us, and share how we worked to honor the earth, our ancestors, and indigenous perspectives throughout our process.

He is a LEED accredited professional, the nation’s premier green building credential, he continues to advocate for sustainable and best building practice. Profits, investors, and capitalism demand growth, massive profit margins, and new customers. We can no longer afford to pretend we are apolitical or neutral because our design decisions are always harming or helping. I am the product of what I am critiquing, and my ability to be a critical thinker has been impacted by the place I learned it from. My goal is to give back, and as harsh as critiques can feel, I am practicing what my field taught me, to question and redesign when something becomes outdated.

I also founded my firm, Beytna Design, and I now work to support social sector leaders to bring their visions of equity to life using Liberatory Design. Founder and CEO of Beytna Design, helping organizations go from wanting equitable products, programs and cultures to actually building them. Design educators like Lesley-Ann Noel, Sasha Costanza-Chock, and Chris Rudd are leading with new models, but if the norm remains extractive, what are we teaching our design students about their obligation to Do No Harm and partner for the long term?

In addition, we are training NACC to design and lead 3 additional sessions so they can continue co-designing beyond this engagement. Based on our recommendations, the organization built on existing equity work by implementing equity leadership coaching, race-based affinity groups, and Liberatory Design coaching which we are currently leading. Engagement in equity projects has grown amongst staff, and groups that meet regularly are developing working norms and building a widestream practice of centering equity in relationships. We seek to understand the experiences, emotions and motivations of the person or community you are designing with so we can redesign systems to be human-centered. Our job is to support you with the frameworks, skills, and tools to create innovative, equitable outcomes. Liberatory Design combines the innovative potential of design thinking, the systemic lens of complexity theory, and the healing powers of equity practices to redesign how people work and live.

The training supported their legal empowerment cohort working across the globe to support oppressed communities. Projects covered transgender health access, opioid addiction support, re-entry services and more. The youth developed relationships with neighbors and local experts, collected community feedback on ideas, and launched their ideas by the end of the program. Several leaders are still connected to us through ongoing mentorship and have transferred their design skills to their professional and personal lives. With fresh, interested eyes Sue absorbed a myriad of cultures that left her with a deep appreciation of the unique and profound impact of art and design. At the same time, seeing places almost completely untouched by humanity left Sue with a passion for what we would today call green living and an eagerness to incorporate her experiences into her personal taste in design.

I felt the teachings were geared at facilitating profit for companies over what was best for their customers or society. Come learn about the emerging grassroots movement called Equity Design, the designers experimenting on the cutting edge, and the ways we are adapting the process and tools. Join me as I share the Liberatory Design process which build in intentionality and equity-consciousness into our design practice. Liberatory Design

beytna design

If leaders are turning to Design Thinking for solutions, we should take a hard look at the harm it perpetuates through its shortcomings. The pandemic showed us our systems are more flexible than we were led to believe. As we watched our families pass to this virus — especially our elders of color — it amplified ongoing activism which had long been questioning systems that create health inequity, oppression, and poverty.

The aim is to find a group of words that have something in common, and you’ll get a clue as to what that theme is. The New York Times’ Strands puzzle is a play on the classic word search. It’s in beta for now, which means it’ll only stick around if enough people play it every day. Today’s NYT Strands hints, spangram and answers are coming right up. Their team members are terrific." We at Verde are strong in our foundation and agile in our execution.

Q: What can we as practitioners do in order to create with intention and design for greater equity?

In my work, this means that I’m not here to make final decisions; I’m here to facilitate. I believe that people can solve their own problems under the right conditions, and my goal is to create some of those conditions. We can examine the ways in which we practice, and question if (our practices) truly align with our values and are creating the kind of change we seek.

Origins of Liberatory Design

Alissa Burkholder Murphy at our design institute interviewed teachers and students to uncover many stories of these conflicts. A group of students was working on a project to motivate people to sign up for organ donations. Their teaching team encouraged them to speak to what they called “extreme users,” so the students interviewed a man experiencing homelessness. It went horribly wrong, and the man thought the students were trying to harvest organs of people experiencing homelessness. Another group interviewed parents whose children were part of a free Head Start program. The parents received repeated requests for interviews by university researchers and felt pressured to say yes to these students because they worried their kids would lose their spot in the program if they said no.

United Way of Salt Lake wanted to build staff capacity to embed equity in their internal and external work. They sought to center community voices and use an equitable human-centered design approach to foster equitable results at the scale of the six school-district region they work with. We Reflect on team health, our design intentions, and the impact our design process is having on us individually, interpersonally, institutionally, and systemically to support continual growth and healing. Liberatory Design has nine “modes” which are complementary ways of working towards equity. They break down the daunting task of creating equitable outcomes into actionable phases that foster both a liberatory process and outcomes. Beytna Design is located on the traditional homelands of the Ramaytush Ohlone nation.

Sue believes there is no need to choose between good design and a green approach and always tries to find new ways to incorporate her fervor for healthy, eco-friendly living into her design concepts, . All of her collections are informed by her passion for nature, exploration and travel, as well as her deeply rooted ties to an authentic California aesthetic, initially inspired by legendary California designers Michael Taylor and Steve Chase. Sue’s ignited passion for all things aesthetic led her to take a position at Design 1, a Los Angeles-based design firm in 1976. During her two decades directing the company, Sue led Design 1 to become the sixth largest design firm (with over 90 employees) in the United States, including international offices in Hong Kong and Paris. To identify and understand an equity challenge, we must start by revealing what is known and unknown.

If we don’t think about human behavior in the context of oppression and power, we incorrectly attribute fault to individuals. We end up reinforcing white supremacist beliefs when really we should focusing our attention on oppressive systems. White Supremacy sustains itself by pretending to be apolitical and post-ideological.

The co-creators of Liberatory Design first convened in 2016 to explore the intersection of equity and design. They explored questions like, “how can design support equity practitioners to take action when they feel overwhelmed by the complexity of equity challenges? ” and “how can design be rooted in understandings of power, oppression, and liberation to design liberation-rooted change? ” The group presented the first prototypes of the frameworks and card deck at SXSWedu 2017. In the years following, the co-creators experimented with, adapted, and grew Liberatory Design within their own organizations.

Sometimes you can do it through designing with system stakeholders and sometimes you need to organize and put pressure on power holders to dismantle systems that refuse to acknowledge our humanity. As a result, the design teams led community co-design workshops, uncovered actionable insights for their projects, and prototyped their ideas in the field. A year later, teams are still practicing Liberatory Design and training their colleagues. For example, an American design firm built an affordable housing project in SouthEast Asia only to have the landlord evict their tenants and raise the rent for the beautifully redesigned units through a legal loophole. Similar to my experience in Cape Town, many communities are saying “no thanks,” to welcoming designers into their worlds.

It’s always cool to see a band from a different perspective; through a camera lens, sidestage, back behind the amps, etc. For this particular show, I was stationed behind two Marshall half-stacks next to the guitar boat – ready for anything. Oceans of Slumber are back in a heavier and darker direction on their latest single, "Where Gods Fear to Speak." The accompanying video, directed by Josh Vargas, captures the essence of the song's overall thought-provoking theme. The lineup for Monsters of Rock Cruise 2024 will also feature Queensryche, Quiet Riot, TNT, Vixen, H.E.A.T, and Kaleido, with the cruise host Eddie Trunk. Monsters Of Rock Cruise 2024 – Day 1 Review article published on Classic RockHistory.com© 2024

Each year, a group of (mostly) ‘80s hard rock bands takes to the high seas onboard the Monsters Of Rock Cruise. Fans are treated to an experience like no other, eating in the same restaurants, swimming in the same pools, gambling in the same casinos as their favorite rockstars – and, of course, seeing them perform in concert on the ship. Joseph Satriani (born July 15, 1956) is an American guitarist, composer, songwriter, and guitar teacher. Early in his career, Satriani worked as a guitar instructor, with many of his former students achieving fame, including Steve Vai, Larry LaLonde, Rick Hunolt, Kirk Hammett, Andy Timmons, Charlie Hunter, Kevin Cadogan, and Alex Skolnick; he then went on to have a successful solo music career.

The final show I attended on day 1 was a favorite of mine and many other cruisers, Spread Eagle on the Pool Stage, kicking off around 11 PM. With the band being from my area around NYC, it feels like I’m seeing my hometown band succeed on the big stage and it is a beautiful thing to see their hard work pay off. The line for this show stretched up the stairwell from deck 3, where the venue lies, all the way up to deck 12. I stood toward the middle of the Theater, singing the tunes at the top of my lungs, surrounded by friends. The whole crowd shared a laugh as vocalist Gary Cherone took a tumble on the side of the stage – a common occurrence for the hyper performer.

There really is no other way to describe how I felt during this experience besides calling it a major “pinch me” moment. Certainly, there was no better way to end such a fantastic, unreal week than with this performance at 3 AM in the middle of the Caribbean. If you’ve never attended the Monsters of Rock Cruise, I have to say it is really a life-changing experience for any rock fan, and I could not possibly recommend it more. News

Departing from Miami on February 9, the themed cruise will take place on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas and sail on a five-day/five-night itinerary scheduled to return to Florida on February 14. Personally, I’ve been attending Monsters Of Rock Cruise since I was 11 years old, with this year being my 6th MORC at 17 years old. As a young rocker, it’s an incredible opportunity to see many bands that I wouldn’t have the opportunity to see elsewhere. This event was what got me into rock music as a youngster in the first place, as well as helping me get my foot in the door of the music industry. The award-winning Independence of the Seas® is giving the Caribbean an injection of new adventures. This is the third of Royal Caribbean’s Freedom-class vessels and it recently received a massive makeover as part of the cruise liners “Royal Amplified” program, which includes the addition of new bars and restaurants.

With a myriad of events, activities, and music to keep fans entertained day and night, MORC ’24 promises to be a fantasy camp, personal paradise, and the vacation of a lifetime for hard rockin’ music enthusiasts. "With a myriad of events, activities and music to keep fans entertained day and night, MORC '22 promises to be a fantasy camp, personal paradise and the vacation of a lifetime for hard-rockin' music enthusiasts," promoter On The Blue said in a statement. Since beginning her career in 2019, she has made waves in the live music scene and the digital world, playing legendary stages such as the Whisky A Go-Go and Monsters of Rock Cruise, as well as accumulating over 1 million views across online platforms. In addition to her blossoming music career, she showcases her passion for music through concert photography and journalism. From KISS to Foo Fighters to Yungblud, Shannon has captured rock royalty through her lens.

Spanning the length of Deck 5, the four-story boardwalk allows guests to stroll into restaurants and cafés, stop in to do some shopping, and grab a drink before the next show. Cabins are now on sale and start at $1,799.00 per person (double occupancy, not including mandatory taxes and fee supplement). The scheduled port of call in CocoCay, Bahamas and Labadee, Haiti, will make for an incredible Caribbean adventure, but the rock and roll fans want to know about the lineup of bans.

After talking to people throughout the week and online after Monsters Of Rock Cruise, it seems this set was a fan favorite for many, an exciting feat for Spread Eagle, as it is their first time being part of this event.

This New Music Friday will see the highly anticipated returns of Pearl Jam, The Ghost Inside and High On Fire, as well as big... Angeline and I went snorkeling in Grand Cayman once and I was so disappointed when I realized that I had forgotten our waterproof camera at home! It’s so much fun to be able to take photos not only under water, but just while you’re on the beach or splashing in the waves! You can also purchase a waterproof phone case or a waterproof camera bag, which will cost you less than a camera. On the first day of your cruise, it may take a few hours for your luggage to be delivered to your stateroom, but you don’t have to wait to have fun. Stuff a carry-on backpack with essentials like your cell phone, wallet, bathing suit and sunglasses, and start swimming, sunning or exploring your ship immediately.

What Can You Bring On A Carnival Cruise

What Happens to Prohibited Items?

Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry. Since the start, it's been our aim to provide the latest cruise news covering all the major cruise lines. We make sure cruisers are fully prepared for their cruise vacation with tips on ships and ports.Millions of travelers rely on Cruise Hive in the United States, Europe, Australia, and around the world. On embarkation day, guests aged 21 and older may bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne per person in their carry-on luggage. While it’s essential to adhere to the guidelines and ensure your bags aren’t excessively heavy for the porters, Carnival’s approach to luggage weight tends to be more lenient compared to most airlines.

For most cruises, you’ll want to bring at least one formal outfit for “formal night.” For women, this can mean anything from a nice dress to a ball gown. Men will want to wear a collared, button up shirt and tie with trousers and dress shoes. On Carnival cruises, ties aren’t required, but many men choose to wear them, as well as sport coats, on Cruise Elegant Dining nights. While men can wear a suit or tuxedo, it is not a requirement on most cruise lines. Chances are, you’ll enjoy every day of your cruise in perfect health, but it’s good to be prepared for small ailments that might pop up like a scratchy throat, a headache or a blister. Is an all-inclusive beverage program that allows guests to enjoy a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by paying a flat daily rate.

Carnival Outlines COVID Cruise Policies and Procedures

As with pre-paid gratuities, this is indicated as ‘Miscellaneous Charges’ on your account. Dine-in gratuities and gratuities for beverage purchases are also automatically added to your Sail & Sign account. Added to your Shipboard Account – This option gives you the convenience of assigning gratuities while onboard, and paying them along with other items on your Sail & Sign account at the end of your cruise.

Guests should check with their travel agent and/or government authority to determine the travel documents necessary for each port of call. Any guest without proper documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of proper travel documentation. All luggage undergoes a security screening process, much like at an airport. This ensures the safety of every passenger and crew member by checking for any prohibited items.

The cruise line will require individuals to stay distanced from other parties throughout the cruise. Of course, Carnival is also aiming to still deliver a fun and unforgettable cruise vacation with these new procedures in place. While there’s plenty to do on all the Carnival ships, you might want some downtime. Additionally, if you want to join in the Carnival Cruise Elegant Nights, consider packing a formal dress, suit, or even a tuxedo for those special occasions. As the sun sets and the evening activities begin, you’ll might want to change into something a bit more formal. Casual dresses for women and slacks paired with collared shirts for men are perfect for most nights.

Pre-paid – This allows you to include the standard gratuity amount to what you pay when you book your cruise, or at any point before the actual boarding time. For Carnival Cruise confirmation messages, this is classified as a ‘miscellaneous charge’, and will be indicated in your cruise documents. Also called as a gratuity, a tip serves as an ‘incentive’ for the cruise staff for the good service they provide. Yes, Carnival Cruise Line conducts security scanning of all luggage as part of their safety and security procedures. To ensure you’re well-prepared for every moment on your cruise, here’s a suggested packing guide of what to consider. Remember, Carnival’s weight limit for checked bags is 50 pounds or 22.6kg.

To avoid carrier imposed roaming charges, turn on airplane mode while on board. While in port, a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought on board. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12-ounces/354-ml each or less per person.

However, it’s still a good idea to ensure your bag isn’t excessively long to ensure easy storage in your stateroom. You’ll need a tape measure, preferably one that has both inches and centimeters for precision. Measuring your luggage accurately for a Carnival Cruise ensures that you adhere to their guidelines and have a hassle-free boarding experience. However, if you are flying to the cruise port, it’s essential to follow all rules for flights regarding liquids.

It was not immediately clear if Carnival plans to sail test cruises with volunteer passengers or full sailings with paying customers, the latter of which have more stringent vaccination requirements. In addition, Carnival reminds cruisers that each locale has guidelines when it comes to social distancing and face mask requirements. When visiting each port of call, cruisers need to ensure they comply with local health requirements. These guidelines could include facial coverings in public or in specific situations and tours. All guests will undergo a health screening at the pier before boarding the ship.

At this time, there appears to be no exemption to these policies for cruisers who are vaccinated. Upon reaching the cruise terminal, curbside porters will be readily available to assist. Simply hand over your tagged luggage to them, and they’ll manage the transportation of your bags onto the ship. All other alcoholic beverages, including those purchased at ports of call or from The Fun Shops, will be stored and returned at the end of the voyage.

Please take a few moments to review some important information and policies that we ask all guests to be familiar with. At this time, face masks will still need to be worn on Carnival Cruise Line ships in Alaska. While the CDC has offered further guidance on face masks on cruise ships, Carnival has yet to include this stipulation in its protocols. With the recent announcement of Alaska sailings this summer, there are different requirements in place for these Alaska cruises on Carnival Cruise Line. Chiefly, cruises on Carnival Magic in Alaska are open only to fully-vaccinated travelers. Those with symptoms or who might be at risk will be detained for additional screening before boarding.

'Your Time Dining' Open Seating 'Your Time Dining' is offered fleet wide. Guests are seated on a first come, first served basis depending on party size and in most cases, are accommodated within 20 minutes. Guests using Carnival's HUB App can check-in for 'Your Time Dining' ahead of time or check-in when they are ready to go. The App will alert the guest when their table is ready as well as the table number in the dining room displayed on the App screen.

Parties traveling together who are waitlisted together will be cleared on the same dining time.Cross-referencing bookings does not guarantee parties will be eating together. Carnival’s  Liquor and Beverage Policy states that guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages on board that are packaged in bottles. This is to ensure that prohibited items, which could interfere with the safe operation of its ships or compromise the safety of its guests and crew, are not brought on board.

Have Fun Be Safe Safe Cruising

Who knew something as simple as a resealable plastic bag could be a cruiser’s best friend? These handy items take up little space in your suitcase, and they keep your smartphone, wallet and other items safe and dry on water-related shore excursions. When you’re ready to pack for your trip home, use them to store wet toothbrushes or bathing suits.

Carnival Cruise Luggage Size Limit

It is customary for our guests to extend gratuities to the shipboard staff in appreciation for their hard work and exceptional service. Applying this charge automatically streamlines the recognition process and ensures our crew will share in your generosity. Guests are prohibited from bringing large coolers sincescreening and movement of large coolers through embarkation is an impediment tothe boarding and security process. However, for the purpose of carrying smallquantities of non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications small, personal-sizedcoolers, no larger than 12” x 12” x 12” are permitted as carry-on luggage. To help you plan, on cruises of 3-5 days, please limit your luggage to a maximum of one bag, per person. On cruises of 6 days or longer, no more than two bags, per person.

This will enhance the debarkation experience as delays may be expected upon return to the United States for those without one. The ship's officers are responsible for your safety and making sure everyone on board feels welcome under our "Have Fun. Be Safe." motto. Please direct any concerns to our Guest Services team so that those matters can be addressed promptly. The captain and our officers have the authority to enforce our policies and make decisions in order to provide for a fun and safe environment for all.

Dining and Beverages

There are certainly other packing rules you need to follow when going on a Carnival cruise. With the luggage flat on the floor (or other surface)  measure its widest point from one side to the other. Start measuring from the floor to the top of the suitcase, as if you are measuring its thickness. Typically some people might think of the height of a suitcase when it’s standing upright, however, this is not the case, it’s actually measured lying flat, as it would be as it passes lying flat through any cruise scanners. The way you measure your luggage for a Carnival Cruise and any other cruise line for that matter might be different to what you expect if you are new to cruising. There are no strict rules about the size of the carry-on bag, but it should be able to fit through a security scanner or x-ray machine.

What If Your Bag Is Over 50 Pounds On Carnival Cruise?

If you’re visiting non-English speaking locations, translation and guide books can be invaluable (or use your phones). Here’s a comprehensive guide to what you cannot bring on a Carnival Cruise. If using a home scale, first weigh yourself, then weigh yourself while holding the luggage. Subtract your weight from the combined weight to determine the weight of the luggage. Use a luggage scale for an accurate reading, or alternatively, you could use a regular home scale.

On Tuesday, Royal Caribbean International was the first cruise line to receive approval to launch test sailing in U.S. waters. In addition, cruisers will need to adhere to local health requirements. These new protocols might result in fewer tour options and smaller tour sizes. Cruisers who do not comply with this shore excursion requirement will not be allowed to re-board the ship. Paying gratuities is already considered an ‘inevitable’ in any modern-day cruise trip, and being aware of how much is expected and how it is charged help you prepare your pockets more efficiently for your trip.

Ensure zippers are closed, tags are attached, and it’s not overstuffed, which could distort the measurements. Most travelers find that two bags per person are sufficient and can easily hold casual attire and other essentials for the entire trip. Remember, if you are travelling by plane for any part of your vacation you will also have to adhere to the airline guidelines too. For those seeking a quick overview of the luggage guidelines for Carnival Cruise, the table below offers concise answers to the most common questions. I also recommend bringing a travel-sized air freshener for the bathroom – there isn’t a lot of ventilation and you can’t simply open the window like you would at home.

Gratuities can be added at the time of booking or anytime up to the sail date. Guests who booked directly with Carnival may add their pre-paid gratuities on Carnival.com. If a guest booked with a travel agent, they may contact their travel professional to add pre-paid gratuities to their booking. Prepaid gratuities are reflected in the 'Miscellaneous Charge' field on the confirmation and in the guest's E-Documents.

Our smoking policy is included in Carnival's Cruise Ticket Contract. You may log in before your cruise using your Carnival.com account or your booking details. To log on, once on board, you will need your folio number (found on your Sail & Sign card) and date of birth. Publicly accessible computers (Microsoft Windows based) with standard internet browsers, are available 24 hours a day.

When it’s time for shore excursions, pack this handy tote with everything you’ll need for the day and save space for a few souvenirs you’ll pick up along the way. At time of booking, guests will be able to confirm their preferred dining choice. If their preference is not available, they may confirm an alternate time and be waitlisted for their preferred choice - there is no guarantee a waitlist will clear. When possible, waitlists will be cleared prior to the sailing and guests will be notified by email.

You will need to provideyour flight information in Online Check-in at the time of purchase. Your flightdetails are provided to the transportation company to assist in expediting yourtransportation to the pier. It is your responsibility to updateCarnival with any changes to your flight schedule to ensure you are met by the transportationcompany. Upon purchasing Bottomless Bubbles, a sticker will be placed on the guest's Sail & Sign® card. One 16-ounce glass will be served at a time (10-ounce glass for juice) and only to the guest whose name appears on the Sail & Sign card with the Bottomless Bubbles sticker attached.

All guests must complete their Online Check-in process no later than midnight (Eastern time) prior to their sailing date. During online check-in, you will be asked to select an arrival appointment. Due to security protocol, last minute bookings made within 24 hours of sailing will require guests to undergo a secondary screening.
